OUT Photo Series visually explores the differences between “closeted”/shameful experiences, and “out”/positive experiences surrounding identity in the LGBTQIA+ community. All of the participants in this photo series identify as a part of the Queer community and volunteered to be a part of this project. The photos in this project were all taken during a face-to-face conversation about identity. The first photo (black & white) was taken while discussing hardships and difficulties with personal identity. The second photo (color) was taken while discussing positive experiences and affirmations of identity. Lastly, each participant gave one word that they feel best describes their own personal journey with their identity.
